The former CPR station was built by the Kingston and Pembroke Railway (K&P) in 1885. The Bay of Quinte Railway (later CN) had running rights on this line. Service ended in the 1950s. The building has been fully restored and is now used as an information centre.

Kingston's current VIA Rail station was built by CN in 1974. The building has been extensively renovated in VIA's distinctive style.
